Happy Hour at Matanzas On The Bay

is a restaurant in Fort Myers Beach, FL. It is located by The Matanzas Pass Bridge.

You can choose to eat at the downstairs restaurant

or at the one upstairs

which has a very nice view of Matanzas Pass.

They have a happy hour on food from 3-6 P.M.

and drink specials until 7 P.M.

My dining companion (DC) and I sampled a few things from the kitchen.

We started off with the smoked fish dip.

Smoked ground Mahi-Mahi was mixed with Capers, bell peppers, onions and Horseradish. This fish dip was unusual as it had little if any dressing such as Mayonnaise in it. I thought it was a nice change from the Status Quo. DC did not really care for it.

We then shared the crunchy almond fish fingers.

Grouper was coated with a mixture of corn flakes and almonds, fried and served with a red pepper-sherry sauce. We did not care for the sauce but the fish was really good, especially with a squeeze of lemon.

The last, and the best thing that was ordered was the Calamari.

It was lightly fried and served with Aioli, sort of a citrus-flavored mayonnaise. Delicious!

This was a very nice happy hour with great food and really good views. I would come back without a second thought.

It’s a wrap for another review on Forks.
