is a Roadside Attraction from yesteryear in Bonita Springs, FL. The gardens had been operated by the same family for over 75 years. Having closed briefly in 2013, the present tenant is a preservationist who did not want the gardens to slip into history.
The Everglades Wonder Gardens have quite a bit of botanical diversity
and have unique things such as African Mahogany and Cashew trees.
The gardens are also home to animal life including alligators
and Southwest Florida’s only pink flamingos.
There was a charity event that day called Groove in the Gardens. This was held to benefit The Bird Gardens of Naples which is a wildlife sanctuary and animal shelter.
Food was provided by Weekend Willie’s a sports bar in Naples, FL.
The food offerings were pulled pork, meatballs in gravy and in Marinara sauce, salad,
pizza,
more salad, veggie sticks with dip and cheeses.
No one went away hungry! Wine was also provided by Decanted, a wine merchant from Naples, FL.
The day’s entertainment was on the garden’s event lawn
and was provided by members of Mudbone, a popular group from Southwest Florida as well as special guests.
All in all a very pleasant afternoon in a beautiful setting with good food and music. It doesn’t get much better than this. That’s that for another review on forks.
