Fort Myers Music Walk is an event that takes place every third Friday of the month. The event is held in the historic downtown River District. This is an approximately five-square block area in downtown Fort Myers, FL that was built in the early part of the Twentieth Century and has been part of an urban revitalization project since the mid 1980’s.

Attendees come from all over the area

and fill the streets

especially Ponce de Leon Square downtown

to hear some of the music.

During music walk, musicians are scattered all over the River District

and even in the municipal parking garage

with other interesting area landmarks as well.

After exploring for a couple of hours, my dining companion (DC) and I had a bit of an appetite. We decided to dine at Spirits of Bacchus.

They have a very nice outside

and indoor dining area.

I decided on the cheese plate.

This was very good and came with a very generous serving of blue cheese, Manchego, Sharp Cheddar and brie. Accompaniments included slices of Baguette bread, honey, grapes, Caper Berries and an olive Tapenade.

Having perused the menu, I felt the cheese plate was not enough and ordered more.  Fish tacos were in order.

It was really too much but allowed me to comment on them. The fillings were excellent (grilled mahi-mahi) but the condiments were not. The salsa reminded me of grocery store salsa and if they had gotten that together the tacos would be the much better.

DC ordered a Cobb Salad.

Not bad. I am a big Cobb salad fan and would probably order this. The acronym is EAT COBB. Egg, avocado, tomato, chicken, onion, bacon and blue cheese!

After all this activity and food we needed a beverage. We decided on the nearby Firestone. This is a historic building that used to be a fish-packing business in the 1900’s.

They have a very nice upstairs bar on their 4th floor, Skybar,

with a great view of the Caloosahatchee River.

Another evening of music and food and another review on Forks,
