El Gaucho Inca  (The Inca Cowboy)

is a restaurant in Fort Myers, FL serving mostly Peruvian with a bit of Argentine and Italian cuisine as well. They have been open about 4 years.

As you walk in the restaurant, they have their Wine decoratively displayed,

which is mostly of Spanish and South American origin.

Their indoor dining area is a mixture of booths

and/or tables.

I prefer a booth, which is where my dining companion (DC) and I tried some of the things on the Menu.

Some toasts were brought to the table, served with Huacatay sauce, a creamy and spicy Peruvian condiment. Loved the sauce!

Peru is noted for it’s Ceviche. This was the first thing that was ordered, and DC and I decided to sample the fish and shrimp ceviche.

Thinly-sliced red onions, Cancha, Hominy and sweet potato slices swimming in lime juice accompanied this dish. Really delicious!

The arugula marina salad was next, which was of a bit of an Italian slant.

A generous portion of sauteed shrimp, arugula, tomatoes, onions, garlic and a Balsamic Reduction were in the salad, and it was really good.

Grilled squid in Anticuchos sauce was next.

This was the restaurant’s version of Peruvian Anticuchos, or skewered barbecued meats with a savory pepper sauce. It was quite good, served with potatoes topped with Huancaina sauce, a traditional Peruvian dish in itself.

DC and I finished up with something warm. I am a big fan of Morcilla, and a side of that was next.

Many people will not eat this, and I was glad DC would. These were moist and flavorful unlike some I have had and were not bad.

The food here is really good. I would come back without hesitation. The Lunch offerings also looked great and seemed like a good value. Hopefully soon if not for Logistics.

Later that night was a beautiful Crescent Moon,

nice to sit back and watch as a Digestif to a very good meal.

It’s a wrap for another post on Forks.
