Bratta’s Ristorante
is a restaurant in Fort Myers, FL.
The restaurant is sort of a bar/restaurant hybrid, mostly because the size of the bar area tends to eclipse the dining area.
There is also a very nice sitting area with overstuffed chairs and couches for those wanting lighter fare and/or drinks with a dark, cozy atmosphere.
It was a Friday night, and The Joint Was Jumpin’, always a good sign.
Bread was brought to the table but was really good about this was the bulb of roasted garlic swimming in butter that came with it. A very nice touch.
My dining companions (DC1 and DC2) and I ordered some starters for the table. Calamari was ordered and was fried and served with a spicy tomato sauce.
As advertized, it was calamari. The real standout was the Bruschetta. The Pesto and Goat Cheese really made this dish and it was excellent.
DC1 ordered the Pistachio-encrusted Grouper, AlmondRisotto and asparagus which was topped with a citrus sauce. Not bad.
DC2 ordered the seafood Fra Diavolo. This was grouper and assorted Shellfish in a spicy tomato-based sauce over pasta. It was also very good.
Duck is one of my favorite things to order out. The duck salad fit the bill. The Panko-encrusted fried goat cheese went really with this, as well as the Balsamic dressing for the greens. I would order it again.
After our meal, the server brought out the dessert tray. Not being into desserts I was indifferent but thought it would make a good picture.
Chocolate Ganache cheesecake, Tiramisu and Italian Lemon Cake were among the offerings that evening. Due to my indifference DC2 took the bull by the horns and ordered the citrus Creme Brulee.
Not really my thing but DC1 and DC2 really enjoyed it.
The food here was pretty good. So was our server. The delivery of the food was timely and the server was very knowledgeable about what was being served at his place of work. Would I come back? Yes, but mostly to take advantage of the really good specials and happy hour offerings they have this time of year (off-season).
It’s a wrap for another review on Forks.
